LPU Placements: Current Snapshot
LPU's official placement page currently reports a large recruiter ecosystem. It highlights 2,225+ recruiters, 6,000+ offers from Fortune 500 companies, 400+ recruiters that also recruit from IITs/IIMs/NITs and an average salary of ₹10.23 lakh for the top 25% of placed students.
| Placement metric | Published figure | How a student should read it |
|---|---|---|
| Recruiters | 2,225+ | Shows scale of recruiter engagement, not a guarantee for every course. |
| Fortune 500 offers | 6,000+ | Indicates access to large corporate recruiters; offers are distributed across years/programmes. |
| IIT/IIM/NIT recruiter overlap | 400+ | Indicates recruiter breadth. |
| Average salary, top 25% | ₹10.23 lakh | This is specifically for the top 25% of placed students, not the university-wide average. |
Do not convert the ₹10.23 lakh top-25% figure into “average LPU package”. It is a selected-cohort metric. Your decision should use programme-specific and typical outcomes wherever the university publishes them.
LPU Placements 2025-26: Latest Reported Highlights
LPU's July 2026 placement update reported that more than 2,000 students had secured offers of ₹10 lakh or above. The update also reported a top-10% average of ₹14 lakh and a highest offer of ₹60 lakh from Microsoft. It mentioned 6,000+ offers and several other high-value technology offers, including ₹48.6 lakh at Amazon and ₹43.5 lakh at CRED. An MBA student was reported at ₹40.85 lakh.
| Reported outcome | Figure | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Students with ₹10L+ offers | 2,000+ | Strong headline outcome, but not the percentage of the entire university graduating class. |
| Top 10% average | ₹14L | Top-cohort average, not all-student average. |
| Highest offer | ₹60L | Highest reported offer; exceptional outcome. |
| MBA reported offer | ₹40.85L | Shows a high-value management outcome, not a typical MBA package. |
Do not use the highest package as your salary expectation
The highest offer is useful for understanding the ceiling of the recruiter ecosystem. It is not a forecast of what an average student will earn.
LPU Average Package: How Should You Read the Numbers?
Students commonly search for “LPU average package”. The problem is that one university-wide average can hide huge differences between B.Tech CSE, management, computer applications, design, law and other programmes. A top-25% average is also fundamentally different from a median.
| Metric | What it tells you | What it does not tell you |
|---|---|---|
| Highest package | Upper end of the placement range. | Typical salary. |
| Top 10% average | Performance of a high-performing subset. | Median or average of the whole batch. |
| Top 25% average | Performance of the upper quarter of placed students. | Outcome for every student. |
| Median salary | Middle point of the salary distribution when available. | Role quality or growth by itself. |
| Placement percentage | Share of eligible students placed under the stated definition. | Whether the job is your preferred role. |
“For my exact programme, what percentage of eligible students were placed, what was the median salary, what were the top recurring roles, and how many students entered core roles versus sales/support roles?”
LPU Placement Recruiters
LPU's placement material highlights recruiters and joint campus drives involving organisations such as Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, Cognizant, Bosch, Capgemini, IBM, Wipro, ITC and others. The recruiter list changes by year and programme, so a logo on a placement page should not be treated as a guaranteed recruiter for every student.
Technology Recruiters
Software, IT services, product and technology companies recruit across relevant computing programmes.
Business & Consulting
Management students can find business, consulting, operations and client-facing roles.
Finance & Banking
Finance-related roles can include banking, financial services, sales, operations and analyst positions.
FMCG & Consumer
Marketing, sales, operations and supply-chain opportunities may be available for relevant programmes.
LPU Placement Process: How Does It Work?
LPU's Division of Career Services coordinates placement support and campus recruitment. Students generally need to meet the eligibility criteria specified by each recruiter and participate in the university's recruitment process.
| Stage | Student action |
|---|---|
| Career preparation | Build resume, aptitude, communication and technical/domain skills. |
| Eligibility check | Check company-specific CGPA, backlog, degree and skill criteria. |
| Registration | Register for eligible drives through the university's placement system. |
| Assessment | Complete aptitude, coding, group discussion, case or role-specific assessments as required. |
| Interview | Attend technical, HR, business or domain interviews. |
| Offer | Selected students receive the employer's offer subject to company terms. |
LPU Placement Eligibility
LPU states that students who opt for placement support and meet the minimum eligibility criteria defined by respective companies can participate in campus recruitment drives. There is therefore no single placement eligibility rule for every recruiter.
| Possible criterion | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Academic performance | Some companies set CGPA/percentage cut-offs. |
| Backlogs | Some recruiters restrict active or past backlogs. |
| Degree / branch | Technical recruiters can specify eligible branches. |
| Skills | Coding, analytics, communication or domain skills may be tested. |
| Internship | Relevant experience can strengthen your profile even when not mandatory. |
Internships and Live Projects at LPU
LPU highlights internships, training, live projects and industry exposure as part of its career ecosystem. For students, internship quality matters because it can affect both skill development and final placement readiness.
Good internship outcome
- Real business/technical problem.
- Named project contribution.
- Measurable result.
- Mentor or manager reference.
- Portfolio evidence.
Do not optimise for brand only
- A famous brand with no meaningful work can be weaker than a smaller firm with real responsibility.
- Choose an internship aligned with your target job.
What Jobs Can LPU Students Get?
| Programme | Potential roles | High-value skills |
|---|---|---|
| B.Tech CSE | Software Engineer, Developer, Data/Cloud roles, QA | DSA, coding, SQL, cloud, projects |
| BCA / MCA | Developer, QA, support, analyst, application roles | Programming, SQL, Git, projects |
| MBA | Analyst, sales, marketing, finance, HR, operations | Excel, communication, analytics, domain knowledge |
| BBA | Business development, marketing, operations, finance/HR support | Excel, communication, internships, domain skills |
| Design / creative | Designer, UX/UI, content, creative roles | Portfolio, design tools, problem-solving |
Programme-wise Placement Reading
Do not compare every LPU programme using one placement figure. A B.Tech placements student and an MBA placements student are recruited for different roles and through different assessment processes.
For B.Tech / MCA / BCA
- Ask about software eligibility.
- Check coding-test patterns.
- Compare technical role versus support role.
- Build a strong GitHub/project portfolio.
For MBA / BBA
- Check function-wise roles.
- Separate sales from analytics/consulting roles.
- Ask about fixed versus variable pay.
- Compare internship-to-PPO opportunities.
Skills That Improve Placement Chances
| Student profile | Priority skills |
|---|---|
| Engineering / MCA | DSA, programming, SQL, Git, projects, cloud basics. |
| BCA | Programming, SQL, web development, projects, DSA. |
| MBA Analytics | Excel, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, statistics, business cases. |
| MBA Finance | Accounting, Excel, financial modelling, markets and communication. |
| MBA Marketing / BBA | Communication, digital marketing, Excel, sales/business understanding. |
What LPU Placement Numbers Do Not Tell You
| Headline number | Missing question you should ask |
|---|---|
| Highest package | How many students got offers above ₹10L, ₹15L and ₹20L? |
| 2,225+ recruiters | How many recruited students from my programme this year? |
| 6,000+ Fortune 500 offers | Which companies and which programmes received these offers? |
| Top 25% average | What are the median and average for my programme? |
| Placement percentage | What is the denominator: eligible students, registered students or graduating batch? |
Is LPU Placement ROI Good?
ROI should be calculated using net education cost and the realistic salary/role outcome for your programme. Scholarship can make a major difference. A ₹10 lakh package is not equivalent to ₹10 lakh take-home, and variable pay or location costs also matter.
- Calculate total tuition after scholarship.
- Add hostel, mess, laptop and living costs.
- Estimate a realistic—not highest—starting salary.
- Check role quality and career progression.
- Compare with two or three alternative colleges.
