LPU Hostel: What Should Students Know?
LPU is a large residential university and many students live on campus. Accommodation is an additional cost to tuition. Room category, occupancy, air-conditioning and booking timing affect the annual fee.
Hostel is convenient if you want to stay close to classes, labs, clubs and campus facilities. It is less attractive if you live nearby and can commute comfortably. Compare the annual hostel + mess cost with your alternative rent and travel cost.

What Is the Total Cost of Living at LPU?
Tuition is only one part of the annual budget. For a student choosing a four-seater AC room, a standard four-meal mess plan, laundry and optional facilities, the residential component can add well over ₹1.4 lakh per year before personal spending.
| Expense | Budget approach |
|---|---|
| Hostel | ₹83K–1.63L+ depending on room and timing. |
| Mess | ₹42K–58K/year depending on plan. |
| Laundry | ₹5,400/year published. |
| Travel/personal | Depends on student lifestyle. |
| Academic fee | Separate; depends on programme. |
LPU Hostel & Student Life
Living on campus can make it easier to participate in clubs, sports, competitions, events, hackathons and peer activities. It also means students spend much more of their daily life inside the university ecosystem.
LPU Hostel Safety & Student Support
LPU highlights separate residential facilities, security arrangements, healthcare support, counsellors and other student services. Students should still understand the emergency contacts and residence rules on arrival.
Is LPU Hostel Worth It?
For students relocating from another state, hostel can be worthwhile because it removes daily commuting and gives access to campus facilities. For nearby students, compare hostel + mess with commuting costs before choosing.
