Programme Overview

DMS describes MBA (Telecommunication Systems Management) as a full-time management programme combining managerial training with technology and telecom-sector inputs from IIT Delhi. The programme covers key business functions with a focus on telecom systems management, technology and regulation.


Tentative Admission Dates: 2027–29

2027–29 dates are not announced. Based on the 2026–28 cycle, plan for late Nov 2026–late Jan 2027 applications, March 2027 interviews and May 2027 results. These are tentative planning windows.


Eligibility

Eligible backgrounds include a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Pharmacy or B.Sc. Agriculture Engineering, or a bachelor's degree in specified physical/chemical/mathematical sciences and related fields including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operations Research, Computational/Information Science, Agriculture, Commerce, Economics, CA or ICWA.

The qualifying degree requires 60% aggregate / 6.00 CGPA. SC/ST/PwD candidates receive a 5 percentage-point relaxation. Final-year candidates can apply subject to DMS conditions.


Admission Process

Candidates applying to the IIT Delhi MBA programmes after qualifying CAT are shortlisted and invited for an interview. For the 2026–28 cycle, the published DMS process included application, document submission, shortlisting, personal interview, offer and fee payment.

What the fee covers: programme tuition is ₹12 lakh; institute and residence charges are separately listed.

What it does not cover: do not treat tuition as an all-in living cost; verify mess, personal and other living expenses separately.

The DMS placement archive publishes placement reports for the department. The final-placement figures shown on the flagship DMS placement page are the main benchmark for the MBA programme; do not assume that flagship MBA placement outcomes are a dedicated Telecom-only placement statistic unless DMS separately reports one.


FAQs

Is an engineering degree compulsory?
No. DMS lists several eligible technical, science, commerce, economics and professional degree backgrounds.
What is the minimum marks requirement?
60% aggregate or 6.00 CGPA, with a 5 percentage-point relaxation for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
Is CAT used?
Yes. The 2026–28 DMS admission page states that candidates qualifying CAT 2025 were shortlisted and invited for interview.
