IIM Sirmaur MBA TTHM: Programme Overview
The MBA Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Management (TTHM) is a two-year full-time programme offered by IIM Sirmaur in collaboration with the University of Technology Mauritius and the University of Mauritius. It combines management education with international exposure in tourism, travel, hospitality, aviation and related service industries.
Year One is delivered at IIM Sirmaur. Year Two includes a nine-month international component in Mauritius, followed by a return to IIM Sirmaur for the final term.
The international component is embedded in the programme rather than being only an optional study tour. Students get cross-cultural classroom exposure, industry interaction and opportunities for paid summer internships with international organisations.

The programme is designed for international careers in tourism, travel, hospitality, aviation, events and allied service industries. It can also suit students targeting multinational service businesses, entrepreneurship or tourism development roles.
TTHM is the stronger fit if international exposure and a Mauritius-based learning experience are central to your career plan. If you want to remain primarily in India while specialising in tourism and related sectors, compare it with IIM Sirmaur's MBA Tourism Management.
IIM Sirmaur MBA TTHM FAQs: Questions Students Actually Ask
Is the 85 percentile CAT cutoff enough for MBA TTHM admission?
It is the published General male overall shortlist cutoff for the 2026-28 process, not a guaranteed admission score. General female candidates had an 80 overall cutoff, with 60 sectional in each CAT section. Final selection also used PI, academics, work experience, gender diversity and Trailblazer score.
What exactly happens in Mauritius during MBA TTHM?
The official programme brief places Term 4 at the University of Technology Mauritius and Term 5 at the University of Mauritius. Together, the Mauritius component lasts nine months and includes cross-cultural classrooms, live group projects, industry interaction and opportunities for paid summer internships with international organisations.
Is the ₹21 lakh fee enough to cover the Mauritius stay?
The published 2026-28 programme fee is ₹21 lakh plus ₹30,000 refundable caution money and covers the listed programme components such as tuition and hostel. The institute's brief does not say that every personal international expense is included, so students should separately plan for personal travel, visa/passport and discretionary living costs and verify programme-specific inclusions before enrolment.
Does a tourism or hospitality degree help in TTHM admission?
It can contribute through the Trailblazer component because the 2026 policy lists a degree in Tourism/Hospitality Management among specified backgrounds. Trailblazer carries 5% of the final composite score. It is only one component of the selection process.
Is TTHM better than MBA Tourism Management if I want an international career?
TTHM has a clear structural advantage for students specifically seeking international exposure because its second year includes a nine-month academic component in Mauritius. MBA Tourism Management is also sector-focused but does not have the same Mauritius-based programme structure in its published brief. The better choice depends on whether international mobility is central to your career plan.
Can a fresher apply for IIM Sirmaur MBA TTHM?
Yes. The admission policy does not make prior work experience a basic eligibility requirement. Work experience contributes to the final composite score, so a fresher can apply but will not receive points from that work-experience component under the applicable scoring bands.
Are the 2027 TTHM admission dates official?
No. The dates shown on this page are tentative planning estimates because the complete 2027-29 calendar has not yet been published. Students should use the official IIM Sirmaur/CAP schedule once announced.
