How to Apply to Chitkara University in 2026
Chitkara uses an online application process. The official admissions portal states that applicants must enter their name as it appears on the qualifying-examination marks card and that an application is not considered complete until the required application fee is paid.
| Step | What to do |
|---|---|
| 1. Choose programme | Check the exact programme, eligibility, selection route and 2026 fee document. |
| 2. Register | Create an account on the official Chitkara admissions portal. |
| 3. Fill application | Enter personal, academic and contact information exactly as required. |
| 4. Upload/submit documents | Keep qualifying marksheets and identification documents ready. |
| 5. Pay application fee | The current portal states ₹1,100 for other programmes and ₹2,100 for Global or Doctorate programmes. |
| 6. Selection/counselling | Follow the programme-specific merit, interview, entrance or counselling instructions. |
There is no single Chitkara entrance examination applicable to every programme. Always check the exact course rule before assuming that JEE Main, an interview or Class 12 merit applies.

Chitkara Engineering Admission 2026: JEE Main vs Class 12
The 2026 engineering fee/admission document is unusually clear: seats in B.E. programmes are allocated using either JEE Main 2026 score or Class 12 marks. For the JEE route, candidates need the prescribed Class XII threshold and a JEE Main 2026 appearance; the university then uses the JEE Main All India Rank for allocation. For the Class 12 route, a higher qualifying threshold is specified.
JEE Main route
- Appeared in JEE Main 2026.
- Passed XII in 2025 or appearing in 2026.
- Meet the prescribed aggregate/PCM eligibility.
- Seat allocation based on JEE Main AIR and preference.
Class 12 route
- Meet the published 70% aggregate or 70% PCM threshold.
- Pass XII in 2025 or appear in 2026.
- Seat allocation follows the university's counselling process and preferences.
