SIDTM Pune MBA: key details at a glance

Symbiosis Institute of Digital and Telecom Management (SIDTM), formerly Symbiosis Institute of Telecom Management (SITM), is a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University). Established in 1996, the institute is based at Village Lavale in Pune and focuses on management education for the digital, telecom and technology ecosystem.

Its flagship programme is the two-year full-time MBA in Digital and Telecom Management (MBA-DTM). The course combines core management learning with technology-management areas such as digital systems, telecom, analytics, fintech, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, IoT, digital marketing and blockchain.

What makes SIDTM different from a general MBA? It is a domain-focused MBA, not a broad general-management programme. Its value is strongest when your target roles involve digital business, IT, telecom, technology consulting, analytics, product/process management or technology-led marketing.

Name note: students still commonly search for “SITM Pune”. The institute's current name is SIDTM; this page keeps the legacy search term in its URL and title context for clarity.

SIDTM Pune MBA specialisations for 2027-29

For the 2027-29 batch, SIDTM lists three dual-specialisation tracks. Each has a stated intake of 60 students. The first semester is common; specialisation teaching starts from the second semester.

Systems and Finance

Combines business and technology for students interested in digital systems, business processes, product development and project management. SIDTM mentions industry-oriented training in cybersecurity, DevOps, internal audit and AWS cloud.

Possible career directions: IT advisory, technology consulting, process/project roles, cybersecurity-related management and systems roles.

Marketing and Finance

Blends marketing with technology applications. The institute highlights brand management, sales force and channel management, and marketing communication for B2B and B2C contexts.

Possible career directions: growth marketing, digital marketing, presales consulting, marketing communications and technology-led business development.

AI and Analytics

For 2027-29, AI and Analytics replaces the earlier Analytics and Finance track. The institute lists R, Python, Tableau, Power BI, IBM Cognos, data mining, social media analytics, big data, Generative AI tools and AI/ML applications.

Possible career directions: business analytics, analytics consulting, data-led decision support and AI-enabled business roles.

How is the specialisation allotted?

SIDTM states that students enter a common first semester. Allocation is merit-based using combined internal marks in Business Statistics, Network Concepts and Components, and Essentials of Marketing Management. Students are ranked by combined marks for allocation; the institute says the Specialisation Allocation Process/Test is announced in advance.

Important for applicants: the 2027-29 specialisation names are not identical to the 2026-28 tracks. AI and Analytics is the new track; do not use older “Analytics and Finance” information when planning for 2027-29.

SIDTM MBA eligibility: who can apply?

  • A bachelor's degree from a recognised university or Institution of National Importance.
  • Minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade.
  • Minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade for SC/ST applicants.
  • Applicants with foreign university degrees must obtain the required equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

SIDTM's FAQ states that graduates from disciplines such as BSc, Commerce, BBA and Biotechnology can apply if they meet the minimum graduation criteria. It also states that final-year students may apply provisionally, subject to submitting qualifying documents within the university's prescribed timeline. The official FAQ says part-time/correspondence degree candidates are not eligible.

The institute lists a sanctioned intake of 180. Its published SIU reservation policy includes SC 15%, ST 7.5%, PwD 3% and children/wards of defence personnel 5% within sanctioned intake, with additional provisions for specified categories. SIDTM Pune admission process: SNAP to final merit list

  1. Register for SNAP 2026: Complete the common Symbiosis entrance test registration and choose the required test attempt(s).
  2. Register separately for SIDTM: Complete the institute/programme registration and fee payment. SIDTM says SNAP registration alone does not make a candidate eligible for its shortlist.
  3. Appear for SNAP: The 2026 test pattern published by SIDTM has 60 questions for 60 marks across General English, Analytical & Logical Reasoning, Quantitative/Data Interpretation/Data Sufficiency, and Ethics, Morality and Values.
  4. Shortlisting: Candidates who have applied, registered and paid for SIDTM are considered for GE-PI shortlisting after SNAP results.
  5. Attend GE and PI: Shortlisted candidates must attend the prescribed Group Exercise and Personal Interaction components.
  6. Final merit and offer: SIDTM publishes merit/wait lists; candidates must meet eligibility and pay fees by the stated deadline.

Final selection weightage

50%SNAP score
10%Group Exercise
40%Personal Interaction
100%Total merit weightage

Is there a direct admission route? The official admission information describes SNAP plus institute registration followed by GE-PI and merit selection. It also mentions discretionary quota seats in the fee section, but says these are considered on academic record and entrance-test scores, with double academic fees. SIDTM/SIU explicitly states that no donation or capitation fee is charged. Do not treat agents or paid admission guarantees as authorised routes.

Official SIDTM selection process ↗

SIDTM Pune SNAP cutoff: is an official percentile published?

SIDTM's current official programme page explains that candidates are shortlisted based on SNAP performance after completing institute registration, but it does not provide a fixed overall SNAP percentile cutoff in the published admission information reviewed for this page.

What should you use instead of an unverified cutoff? Track your SNAP score/percentile, complete the SIDTM application before its deadline, and monitor the institute's official shortlist and category-wise merit/wait lists. A predicted cutoff from a coaching or admissions website is not an official SIDTM cutoff and should not be treated as an admission guarantee.

SIDTM states that final merit is based on SNAP (50%), Group Exercise (10%) and Personal Interaction (40%). A strong SNAP score is important, but it is not the only component of final selection.

How to interpret “100% placement” claims: SIDTM's placement page refers to a 100% placement record for eligible students, but its placement committee also states that placement is a facility and not a right.
