Programme Overview
IIM Kozhikode's Post Graduate Programme in Business Leadership (PGP-BL) is a one-year, full-time residential management programme designed for young professionals with relevant work experience who want to move towards broader leadership responsibilities.
The programme is intentionally different from a conventional two-year MBA. IIMK describes it as a high-intensity and holistic programme that combines condensed management learning, leadership development, industry engagement and global exposure. The programme structure is organised into five terms of approximately eight to nine weeks each.
The programme is built for experienced professionals, not fresh graduates. Its value proposition is based on accelerating an existing career through an intensive management and leadership experience, rather than providing an entry-level management foundation.

Status: Tentative / expected. IIM Kozhikode has not published the 2027-28 PGP-BL admission calendar. The current official cycle uses three application phases, with applications opening from June to September 2026, PI rounds from August to December 2026 and classes commencing in April 2027. Eligibility for IIM Kozhikode PGP-BL 2026–27
For the current PGP-BL admission process, IIM Kozhikode requires candidates to meet all three core conditions: at least 50% or equivalent CGPA in graduation, post-graduation or an eligible professional qualification; at least four years of qualifying work experience after graduation; and a valid CAT, GMAT or GRE score.
Only full-time remunerative work experience after graduation is counted. Part-time work, projects, internships, articleship and pre-graduation experience are not treated as qualifying work experience under the published admission requirements.

Entrance Exam Requirements & Profile Fit
IIM Kozhikode requires a valid CAT, GMAT or GRE score for PGP-BL, but the programme's admission process is not based on an entrance-test percentile alone. The application also includes programme-specific written components and Personal Interaction.
The most relevant admission question is not simply “What CAT percentile is required?” PGP-BL evaluates an experienced-professional profile through eligibility, application content and personal interaction in addition to the accepted test score.
IIM Kozhikode PGP-BL Admission Process
IIM Kozhikode uses a two-stage selection process for PGP-BL, conducted through multiple independent application phases.
- Check eligibility: minimum 50% in graduation/post-graduation or the specified professional qualification, at least 4 years of full-time remunerative work experience after graduation, and a valid CAT/GMAT/GRE score under the applicable rules.
- Choose an application phase: the current PGP-BL cycle has three independent application phases, each with its own deadline.
- Complete Stage 1 application: submit registration details plus the Statement of Goals and Alternative Resume Essay.
- Personal Interaction shortlist: IIMK evaluates the Stage 1 application and decides candidates invited to PI.
- Attend Personal Interaction: the PI assesses work experience, leadership, diversity, communication and other programme-relevant attributes.
- Final merit and offer: IIMK prepares the merit list after PI and issues offers in merit order under the applicable reservation policy.
- Accept and pay: the current official cycle requires ₹5 lakh as the offer-acceptance amount, with the balance of the first instalment payable before the programme begins.
IIM Kozhikode PGP-BL Fees & Fee Bifurcation
IIM Kozhikode currently lists a ₹22.50 lakh programme fee for PGP-BL and a ₹3,000 non-refundable application fee. The institute also publishes batch-specific fee-breakup documents for PGP-BL; students should use the applicable batch document before making payment.
