What is IIM Calcutta MBAEx?

MBAEx is IIM Calcutta’s one-year, full-time residential management programme for experienced professionals. It is designed for participants who already have substantial professional exposure and want to accelerate into broader management, consulting, technology, finance or leadership roles.

Eligibility & Admission 2026

For the 2026-27 cycle, eligibility requires a bachelor’s degree with at least 10+2+3 years of formal education, at least five years of full-time post-qualification managerial/professional experience as of March 31, 2026, and a valid GMAT score taken within the last 36 months. Selection considers academics, experience, GMAT, interview, SOP and recommendations. The institute does not use a predetermined minimum GMAT score.


Curriculum & Learning: What You Actually Study

The curriculum covers economics, finance, marketing, operations, organisational behaviour, information technology, strategy and management subjects, with electives and live projects for experienced professionals.

Fees & ROI

₹33.50 lakh is the published programme fee for the 19th batch (2025-26). It included tuition, course material, books, accommodation, economy airfare and some immersion expenses. A ₹60,000 refundable security deposit was additional; personal expenses such as food and electricity were not included.

Placements & Career Outcomes

The 18th batch recorded ₹35.37 LPA average CTC, ₹32.88 LPA median CTC and ₹125 LPA maximum CTC. 72 students availed placement services and 76 offers were recorded. Consulting and IT/ITES were major hiring areas.
