What is IIM Amritsar IPM?

IIM Amritsar's Integrated Programme in Management is a five-year route that starts after Class XII and combines undergraduate and postgraduate management education. The institute's current Indian-applicant policy covers the 2026-31 batch and states that the programme is intended for students entering after school.

The important distinction from the flagship MBA is the entry point: IPM is for school-leavers, while the two-year MBA requires a bachelor's degree.

IIM Amritsar IPM Eligibility

  • Candidate must meet the age requirement specified for the relevant batch.
  • For the 2026-31 Indian-applicant cycle, candidates had to have passed Class XII in 2025 or be appearing in 2026.
  • Mathematics or Applied Mathematics was required as a compulsory paper.
  • Minimum marks were 60% in Class X and Class XII for the general eligibility route, with the notified relaxation for SC/ST/PwD categories.

How is IIM Amritsar IPM selection done?

The selection criteria are published separately for each admission cycle. Students should follow the latest IPM admission policy rather than assuming that a CAT-style MBA process applies to IPM.

For the 2026-31 cycle, IIM Amritsar published a dedicated admission policy for Indian applicants and a separate policy for international applicants.

IIM Amritsar IPM Fees 2026-31

The official fee document for the 2026-31 batch gives a ₹17.75 lakh total fee for the first three years. It also states that fees for years four and five will be decided by the Board of Governors for the MBA 2029-31 batch, so a student should not treat today's MBA fee as a guaranteed year-4/5 IPM fee.

Would I choose IPM instead of a regular BBA?

If I were entering after Class XII and already knew I wanted management education, I would seriously consider IPM because it gives a five-year integrated path. The trade-off is commitment: you are choosing a long programme before you have experienced college-level management education.
