  • Applicants must satisfy the eligibility conditions when admission is verified. A discrepancy can lead to rejection or cancellation.

How does the DoMS NIT Trichy MBA admission process work?

The 2026 process is straightforward: CAT → NIT Trichy application → shortlist → Personal Interview → final selection. DoMS conducts its own MBA admission process after CAT.

What were the DoMS NIT Trichy MBA 2026 dates?

The official 2026 admission brochure gives the following dates. The application deadline was later extended by the institute.

Admission stage2026 dateStatus
Online application started13 February 2026Completed
Original application deadline8 March 2026, 6:00 PMExtended
Extended final deadline23 March 2026, 5:00 PMCompleted

For the next intake: the 2026 brochure does not publish the 2027-29 schedule. Students should use the official MBA admissions page for the next notification rather than treating the 2026 dates as current deadlines.

What CAT percentile is required for DoMS NIT Trichy?

There is no fixed CAT percentile published as the 2026-28 admission cutoff. The official brochure says candidates are shortlisted using their CAT 2025 overall percentile and undergraduate academic achievement. It does not give a numeric minimum CAT percentile for shortlisting.

What does this mean for you?

Do not read a number such as 80, 85 or 90 percentile as an official DoMS cutoff. Your CAT percentile is one part of the shortlisting decision, and UG academics are also considered.

What do recent applicants report?

Student discussions can be used as a competitiveness reference, but they are not official cutoffs. Recent Reddit threads include applicants reporting 84.51, 85.83 and 73.63 percentile while discussing DoMS NIT Trichy. These are individual profiles, not admitted-student cutoff data.

Student discussionReported CAT percentileHow to use it
NIT Trichy MBA Admissions – Reddit ↗84.51 and 85.83Applicant-level reference only
Regarding NIT Trichy MBA – Reddit ↗73.63Applicant-level reference only

Bottom line: a higher CAT percentile is helpful, but there is no official “safe cutoff” published by DoMS. Shortlisting and final selection depend on the factors stated by the institute.

What factors decide the final DoMS NIT Trichy MBA selection?

The brochure separates the process into shortlisting and final selection. This distinction matters if you are trying to understand why CAT alone does not decide admission.

Shortlisting

  • CAT 2025 overall percentile
  • Undergraduate academic achievement

Final selection

  • CAT 2025 overall percentile
  • Undergraduate academic achievement
  • Professional work experience
  • Personal interview performance

The brochure does not publish a separate weightage percentage for each of these factors. Therefore, this page does not assign artificial weights.
